About Karin Olds, MD
Dr. Olds is medical director of the comprehensive stroke program at Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute. She oversees a team of stroke experts who treated more than 1,800 stroke patients in 2018 – that’s about one every five hours. Dr. Olds went to medical school at the University of Kansas and completed her neurology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is board certified in vascular and stroke neurology.

Poor food choices can lead to the development of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, Type II diabetes, and some cancers. Food as Medicine Everyday (FAME) is an evidence-based nutrition education program that teaches participants to make food choices that nourish the body instead of harming it. Dr. Fisher is medical director of Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute and is the Edward T. Matheny, Jr., Missouri Endowed Chair in Neurosciences at UMKC School of Medicine. He previously served as the medical director for four Silverado Memory Care communities in Houston, Texas, and co-director of the Movement Disorders and Neurorehabilitation Center at Houston Methodist Neurological Institute.

Besides being everyone’s favorite doctor and medical director of Bishop Spencer Place since we opened more than 22 years ago, Dr. Holt is the director of geriatric medicine at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. He also serves as clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Stanford University.
