Preventing Disease with Food
Join us for a luncheon presentation featuring Lucas Schubert, MScN, nutrition health coordinator for Saint Luke’s Food as Medicine Everyday (FAME) program. Lucas will discuss the guiding principles of FAME, including how to fill your diet with whole, plant-based, and anti-inflammatory foods. Plus, Lucas and Saint Luke’s Bishop Spencer Place’s Executive Chef Christopher Cruz will demonstrate healthy cooking techniques – and you’ll get to sample the results!
Enjoy a delicious chef-prepared lunch by PB&J Restaurants, our culinary services provider. Community tours will follow.
Seating is limited, so RSVP for yourself and a guest today. Complimentary valet parking is available.
About Saint Luke’s FAME Program:
Poor food choices can lead to the development of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, Type II diabetes, and some cancers. Food as Medicine Everyday (FAME) is an evidence-based nutrition education program that teaches participants to make food choices that nourish the body instead of harming it. FAME offers a variety of hands-on classes that teach simple techniques to cook tasty and healthy meals.
